We were made to move. Why don't we at work?

About

We think it’s time meetings become productive.

POWER YOUR ORGANIZATION

THROUGH MOVEMENT.

Thru Movement was founded on the premise that the best ideas are unlocked through movement. Work and meetings (online and in-person) can and should be fun, productive opportunities for teams to thrive. With an expertise in strategic planning, marketing and team building, and a passion for the runner’s high, we show business leaders how to power their organizations through movement.

about our founder

Wendy Wheless

Throughout her 15+ years of experience in industries including media, consumer packaged goods, professional sports, nonprofit, and higher education, Wendy realized one thing remained the same – the workplace is too sedentary, and standing desks won’t cut it. She decided she had sat in one too many dark conference rooms where half the people were disengaged or trying desperately not to doze off.

Wendy’s best energy, best ideas, best friendships come to her through running. Thinking it was more than a coincidence, she began studying the relationship between movement and cognitive thinking. Turns out, there’s science to prove that humans learn best when moving.

Unfortunately, most workplaces don’t foster movement, and certainly most meetings and conferences don’t. But it’s time this changes. Employees demand it and deserve it. Many innovative companies are catching on to this. Along with them, Wendy is creating a new way to work and unlock a team’s best ideas.

Wendy is a highly trained communicator, business leader, and negotiator. She earned her BS and MBA at the University of Texas at Austin. Professional highlights for Wendy include bringing Snoop Dogg to the Coors Light Party at Super Bowl XLIV, leading a “Hook’em Horns” chant in front of thousands of screaming Longhorn students. (Neither of these experiences involved sitting still.) Personal accomplishments include running marathons (two of them while pregnant) and trying to keep up with her three young children.

When Wendy isn’t leading teams through a strategy session designed to get people—and their creativity—flowing, you will find her in Austin, TX, brainstorming life hacks on a “jogabout" with a friend or new colleague.
